Public Works Wee Expo

There are a lot of ways to get involved with Public Works and the City of Meridian, from painting fire hydrants to learning more about the Public Works processes through a fun tour. Check out a some of the ways below. We hope to see you at a few of this year's activities!

Hydrant Painting

Each year, we seek volunteers to help us keep the fire hydrants throughout Meridian looking good. The bright red color is not only iconic, it serves an important purpose, allowing firefighters to easily identify the nearest hydrant in an emergency situation. Our volunteers have ranged from seniors in high school to senior citizens, from boy scouts to retired couples with a extra time in their day. If you are interested in getting on this summer's paint crew, please contact us below.

The duration can vary based on the amount of questions we get along the way -- which are welcomed! Tour goers should dress for weather, and wear close-toed walking shoes. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Space is limited and this event fills up quickly.
